Defence IQ is delighted to announce that the world’s leading joint personnel recovery event will be returning in 2012 following its tremendous success in 2011.

With complex security challenges driving a wide range of multinational operations, maintaining an effective PR/CSAR capability has never been more imperative. With more and more nations developing this capability, Joint Personnel Recovery will focus on CSAR operational feedback, equipment requirements and innovation, training and technical development.

Joint Personnel Recovery will provide a pertinent opportunity for JPR focused military and industry officials to gain the information they need to confront today’s complex operating environs and how to foster closer collaboration in a bid to solve growing capability gaps.

Joint Personnel Recovery 2012 will focus on:

  • Ensuring interoperability between CSAR platforms in theatre and whether they today’s stringent operational requirements
  • Operational feedback from coalition operations in Afghanistan with a focus on how dedicated CSAR personnel and systems have fared in harsh and dangerous environments
  • CSAR policy and doctrine: Is doctrine driving the development of technology or has technology influencing doctrine and policy development?
  • SERE commanders’ perspectives on national training programmes, the drive towards the standardisation of training and whether technology can play a larger role in conducting advanced training
  • How emerging nations such as Brazil, South Africa and Malaysia are developing their personnel recovery capabilities and their current CSAR requirements
  • A new focus on the increasing prevalence on NGO’s and civilian contractors on the battlefield and their potential interaction with CSAR units in times of crisis
  • Personnel recovery in host nations and the challenges of understanding and building relationships with local civilian and military authorities
  • Non NATO partner nations: How nations with large areas of operations such as Australia and New Zealand plan and conduct personnel recovery missions
  • The privatisation debate surrounding national personnel recovery schemes
